DMSAS Hosts Design in Action Student
David M. Schwarz Architects was thrilled to once again host a student through the Washington Architecture Foundation’s Design in Action program. Started in 2012, the Design in Action program pairs DC-area high school students with local architecture firms for a week-long shadowing & mentorship program. The program takes place during the student’s spring break, allowing them time to come into the office for hands on experience.
We could not have been more thrilled with our student this year, Micah Bibb. Micah is a Junior at School Without Walls with an interest in architectural design and engineering. During his time in the office, Micah sat in on design team crits, joined us for a tour of House of the Temple (aka Temple of the Scottish Rite), built a few small project models, and learned about hand-rendering in different mediums. As you’ll see in the last picture of the gallery below, we had a small office breakfast to celebrate Micah’s time in the office and wish him farewell on his final day.
