Gregory Hoss is a Prinicpal, Managing Director of David M. Schwarz Architects. He is a graduate of The Catholic University of America where he earned degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering and where he now serves on the Board of Visitors. Gregory is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Society for College & University Planners and the International Association of Venue Managers. Prior to joining DMSAS, he spent the first phase of his career planning and designing airport terminals around the world.

Gregory has had the good fortune to work with an exceptional group of clients, helping them to identify and prioritize their goals and synthesize them into a wonderful physical reality. He likens the practice of architecture to being the maestro of an orchestra: “We hold the client’s vision in our hands and then, on our cue, each player on the design team performs their role in synchronicity with all the other players to create a wonderful piece of architecture”.

He also works with an incredibly talented group of architects at DMSAS who share his commitment to excellence in everything the firm does.

Gregory and his husband Lars Etzkorn, both natives of the greater Midwest, are honored to live and work in our nation’s beautiful capital city. They endeavor to stay involved in the community’s cultural, political and philanthropic discourse. Most importantly, however, they serve at the pleasure of their dachshund, Ella Louise.
